Navajo pottery has evolved into a fine craft with vessels that are well-shaped, beautifully proportioned and finished with smooth slips, but in the tradition of Navajo pitch pots. This sweet work is signed Sue on the base.
Sue is one of three daughters of the matriarch of Navajo pottery, Rose Williams. Her inheritance of potter’s skills and talents is parallel to that of her sisters, Alice Cling and Susie Crank.
