Ida Sahmie was born in Pine Springs on the
Navajo Reservation in 1966. Her mother was
an accomplished weaver. Weaving, however,
did not appeal to her. Instead, she pursued
pottery. Ultimately, her worked reflects the
combined traditions of Dine’ (content) and
Hopi (style).
